WHAT IS WOODWOOL?

What makes this shirt special is its excellent comfort. In a WoodWool shirt, you'll immediately feel the wide, comfortable temperature range, where you're neither too cold nor too warm.

This is achieved through an innovative blend of 50% mulesing-free Merino wool and 50% wood fibers. This combination is climate-balancing and also biodegradable.

• High abrasion resistance and softer grip: Grüezi bag® combines wool with the finest wood fibers (lyocell) in a 50:50 ratio to increase abrasion resistance. The result: a skin-friendly, soft feel combined with high durability and longevity.
  
• Climate balancing: Wool naturally regulates moisture and body temperature. It creates a pleasantly comfortable microclimate and prevents cooling evaporative cooling. Even when damp, it retains its warming properties. WoodWool dries at a balanced pace that supports the body's natural warmth. When the body sweats to regulate its temperature, the moisture would normally evaporate too quickly, creating evaporative cooling. However, wool prevents this by controlling moisture loss and maintaining a comfortable, constant temperature.
  
• Antibacterial: Wool inhibits the growth of bacteria and neutralizes unpleasant odors – perfect for longer periods of wear.

MAINTENANCE

Washing

• Wash your woolen clothes at 30 °C (86 °F) on the wool cycle of the washing machine – and only with wool detergent without protease.
• Wash your wool shirts not together with garments that have zippers, Velcro or hooks It is best to use a Laundry bagto protect the fibers.
• Fill the washing machine only half and choose a low spin speed.
• Do not tumble dry or wring out – this will prevent the wool from felting.
• For stains (e.g. deodorant residue or cream): Carefully knead the stain with diluted wool detergent, then wash as normal. Do not rub!

Drying Solutions

• Put the wet shirt on after washing carefully shaped in length and width.
• Let them air dry lying down on a clothes rack – not hanging, not on the heater and not in direct sunlight.

Storage

• Wool is a natural material – and therefore susceptible to Clothes moths. Store rarely worn items best cleaned in tightly sealed garment bags.
• Scented sachets (e.g. with lavender or cedarwood) also help to keep moths away.
• Fly screens on windows and doors prevent moths from entering the house.

Tips for everyday life:

• Wet wool is sensitiveDon't wear wet wool shirts directly under your backpack – otherwise, friction can cause holes.
• Airing instead of washing: Wool doesn't need to be washed often. Airing the shirt out thoroughly is usually sufficient—since wool is naturally odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent.
• Pilling is normalNote: Our WoodWool shirts develop fewer small pills than pure merino wool. However, they can still occur in high-wear areas (e.g., backpack straps or waistbands)—that's simply normal with natural fibers.
