WHAT IS WOODWOOL?

What makes this shirt special is its excellent comfort. In a WoodWool shirt, you'll immediately feel the wide, comfortable temperature range, where you're neither too cold nor too warm.

This is achieved through an innovative blend of 50% mulesing-free Merino wool and 50% wood fibers. This combination is climate-balancing and also biodegradable.

• High abrasion resistance and softer grip: Grüezi bag® combines wool with the finest wood fibers (lyocell) in a 50:50 ratio to increase abrasion resistance. The result: a skin-friendly, soft feel combined with high durability and longevity.
  
• Climate balancing: Wool naturally regulates moisture and body temperature. It creates a pleasantly comfortable microclimate and prevents evaporative cooling. Even when damp, it retains its warming properties.
  
• Antibacterial: Wool inhibits the growth of bacteria and neutralizes unpleasant odors – perfect for longer periods of wear.
  
• More recovery, more energy: Wool supports the body in temperature regulation thanks to its excellent temperature-balancing properties.

MAINTENANCE

Washing

• Wash at 30°C/86°F on the wool cycle in the washing machine with wool detergent (without protease), do not tumble dry.
• Wool shirts can be washed in the washing machine, but please do not place them under other zippered garments. We recommend using a laundry bag.

Storage

• Natural materials can be infested by clothes moths. As a preventative measure, we recommend installing fly screens on windows and doors, and storing any woolen clothing or blankets that have not been worn for a long time in tightly sealed garment bags. Odors that are unpleasant for moths (e.g., scented sachets) are also effective at repelling them.

Tip:

• Please note: Wet wool is delicate. Therefore, avoid direct contact with your backpack with dripping wet shirts and wear a jacket over them, as otherwise holes will appear.
• Airing a shirt is better than washing it. They rarely need to be washed, as wool itself has natural odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent properties.
• WoodWool shirts pill less than pure Merino shirts. As a natural product, the fibers pill, especially in high-wear areas where straps or waistbands rest.
