The very light and functional mountaineering jacket with innovative and unique DownWool® insulation

The "Senseful DownWool Jacket" is a very lightweight, warm, and minimalist outdoor insulation jacket for those who value lightweight construction (only 220 g) and a small pack size. Thanks to DownWool® insulation, it offers a dry, balanced wearing climate, is resistant to high humidity, and optimally balances temperature fluctuations between active phases and rest breaks.

Grüezi bag® jackets offer the best wearing comfort and functionality

Many features make the "Senseful DownWool Jacket" a perfect companion even for demanding alpinists.

  • DownWool® - the better down: Unlike conventional down, DownWool® retains its insulating properties even in high humidity of up to 90%. This means DownWool® offers superior thermal performance, even in cold, wet conditions.
  • Larger temperature range: DownWool® jackets have a wider temperature range, allowing you to feel comfortable and avoid overheating. Wool balances out temperature fluctuations.
  • Optimal freedom of movement: A sophisticated cut, the extended back and the pre-shaped raglan sleeves ensure optimal freedom of movement and are perfect for ski tourers, winter hikers, mountaineers and bikers who want to take a warm jacket with them.
  • Lightweight and small pack size: Ultra-light, durable, breathable, and recycled fabrics save weight and extend the life of the product.
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.

  • Very breathable upper material: It is windproof and water-repellent.
  • Two-way autolock zipper YKK: The lined zipper cover protects against wind and can also be opened from below for greater freedom of movement.

  • Supplied pannier bag: The jacket can be stored and transported very small.
  • Elastic waistband and cuffs keep wind and cold out.

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL®?

What makes this jacket special is its innovative insulation: In a DownWool® jacket, you'll immediately feel the wide temperature comfort zone, where you're neither too cold nor too warm. Furthermore, the insulation is naturally less sensitive to high levels of moisture.

This is achieved through the mechanical bond of 70% RDS-certified down and 30% wool from the Alps. This patent-pending combination acts as a lightweight, natural air conditioner.

Down: excellent insulation performance

  • High-quality down provides exceptional insulation at a low weight. However, in high humidity (air, sweat, condensation), down clumps together and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this problem with its innovative DownWool® insulation.

Wool: effective moisture and temperature regulation

  • Thanks to the addition of wool in DownWool®, the down stays naturally drier, thus maintaining its insulating properties. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture through its capillaries and release it back to the outside in a controlled manner.
  • DownWool® remains insulating at humidity levels up to 90%. The wool fibers rise in humidity and even increase their loft by up to 30%, further improving the sleeping bag's insulation.
  • DownWool® not only effectively regulates moisture, but also body temperature. Wool prevents cooling evaporation and retains its warming properties even when damp, something no other material can match. Wool naturally creates a cozy, comfortable microclimate through its unique climate-regulating properties.
  • The body needs a lot of energy to regulate its temperature. Wool supports this process thanks to its excellent temperature-regulating properties.
  • Wool also neutralizes unpleasant odors.

SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE RESPONSIBILITY

  • Grüezi bag® is a CO2-neutral Company.
  • animal welfare: RDS-certified down (RDS CU 859743), mulesing-free sheep wool from Europe
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification for all materials used. This label for textiles tested for harmful substances guarantees that the product is harmless to health.
  • PFC-free impregnation: Permanent water and dirt-repellent impregnation based on renewable raw materials (BeSoDRY-ECO)
  • Colors: We use selected BEMACRON dyes from the CHT Group: they are non-toxic to nature and meet both Cradle to Cradle requirements and the bluesign® standard.
  • Recycled materials: GRS-certified recycled nylon as outer and inner material
  • Repair and refill service

MAINTENANCE

Washing

  • The washing instructions are in the inside pocket of the jacket.
  • The jacket can be hand-washed with a down detergent at a maximum of 30°C/86°F or machine-washed on the wool cycle. Please turn inside out, zip up, run an additional rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.
  • Remove the item from the washing machine, loosen it up a bit and then spin it gently (max. 600 revolutions)!

Drying Solutions

  • Tumble dry at max. 60°C/140°F and be sure to add 2-3 tennis balls for better fluffing.
  • Please run the item through the dryer several times and after each dryer cycle, remove it from the machine, shake it well and let it cool down in between.
  • The dryer must be set to a timer program to dry the down completely.
  • If you don't use a dryer, you can place the jacket on a clothes rack on sunny days and shake it frequently to allow air to reach the jacket from above and below.

When is the drying process completed?

  • If the item still does not have its original thickness, the drying processes must be repeated until the jacket feels more filled than before.
  • Depending on the water resistance of the outer material, the drying process can take different lengths of time (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
  • The down must be completely dry. If the jacket isn't dried and fluffed properly, there's a risk that the down feathers will clump together. This will damage the jacket beyond repair. Damp down can develop an odor, which will dissipate once it's dried.

Tip:

  • Down jackets should be tumble dried from time to time or after each tour using tennis balls to remove excess moisture.
  • Airing the jacket is better than washing it. DownWool® jackets rarely need to be washed, as wool itself has natural odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent properties. For minor external soiling, we recommend gently cleaning only the stain itself (see above). Jacket with greasy or extensively soiled areas can be machine washed.
