3-season sleeping bag with DownWool® 2.0 - for cool nights and tours down to slightly below zero degrees Celsius

Are you looking for a versatile 3-season sleeping bag that will not only keep you warm on mild nights but also comfortable when temperatures drop towards freezing? The DownWool 2.0 Subzero is designed for trekking, bikepacking, camping, mountaineering, and travel from spring to autumn – ideal if you want extra warmth outdoors without having to resort to a heavy winter sleeping bag.

DownWool® 2.0 insulation combines 70% down with 30% wool – for a sleeping bag that is lightweight, packable, and pleasantly temperature-regulating . Down provides warmth with minimal weight, while wool absorbs moisture and balances the sleeping environment . DownWool® truly shines in changing conditions – it is demonstrably less sensitive to moisture than pure down and offers the comfort you need for restful nights outdoors.

In addition, the comfortable cut offers more freedom of movement than the usual, very tightly cut ultralight sleeping bags and supports a relaxed sleeping position - even for side sleepers.

The result: Compared to lighter 3-season sleeping bags, the DownWool 2.0 Subzero offers significantly more warmth for changing and cold conditions. This makes it versatile – suitable for everything from cool spring nights and damp autumn tours to nights slightly below freezing . Ideal if you want to sleep comfortably outdoors even in uncertain weather – and start the next day's adventure refreshed .

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL® 2.0?

DownWool® is a patented combination of down and wool. With DownWool® 2.0, the insulation has been further developed: thanks to the optimized wool structure, it now achieves the low weight and small pack size of classic sleeping bags – while being significantly less sensitive to high humidity.

  • Moisture is the biggest weakness of conventional sleeping bags.Moisture can impair the loft, especially in pure down.
  • DownWool® This is precisely where it comes in. The combination of high-quality down and regulating wool. It supports a dry climate and prevents heat loss in high humidity.

The result is a new generation of natural insulation - lightweight, climate-stable and designed for real, changeable outdoor conditions.

THE TECHNOLOGY BEHIND INSULATION

70% high-quality duck down
Provides high heat output with minimal weight.

30% natural wool
It absorbs moisture, stabilizes the loft and creates a balanced wearing climate.

MAINTENANCE

Washing

  • Wash your DownWool® product by hand or at 30 °C (86 °F) in the wool cycle of the washing machine – and only with a down detergent.
  • Please turn inside out, zip up, run an additional rinse cycle and do not use fabric softener.
  • Fill the washing machine only half and choose a low spin speed (max. 600 revolutions).
  • For stains (e.g. deodorant residue or cream): Carefully knead the stain with diluted down detergent, then wash the area by hand and let it dry (su). Do not rub!

Drying Solutions

  • Dry the DownWool® product in Tumble dry at max. 60 °C/ 140 °F And be sure to add 2-3 tennis balls for better loosening.
  • Perform several drying cycles: after each drying cycle, remove the item from the machine, shake or loosen it well, and allow it to cool down in between.
  • The dryer must be set to a timer program to dry the down completely.
  • If you don't have a tumble dryer, let the product air dry lying flat on a clothes rack.– Do not hang it up, not on a radiator, and not in direct sunlight. Shake it frequently to allow air to circulate around it from above and below.

When is the drying process completed?

  • Until the item feels more filled than beforeIf the item still hasn't regained its original thickness, you'll need to repeat the drying process. Depending on the water resistance of the outer material, the drying time can vary (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
  • The down must be completely dry. If the down is not properly dried and fluffed, there is a risk that the down feathers will clump together. This will render the item irreparably damaged. Damp down can smell, but this will disappear once it is dry.

TIPS/NOTES

  • Down products should be cleaned from time to time or after each tour with tennis balls in the tumble dryer be dried, so that excess moisture is removed.
  • Airing the product is better than washing it.DownWool® items rarely need washing, as wool itself has natural odor-resistant and dirt-repellent properties. For minor external soiling, we recommend gently cleaning only the stain itself (see care instructions). Heavily soiled or greasy items can be machine washed.
  • Occasional down feathers escaping These are normal and not a quality defect. Our DownWool® products are made from high-quality, intentionally uncoated fabrics to ensure breathability. Therefore, down may escape more easily than with coated fabrics. This phenomenon occurs only rarely and to a very small extent, and does not lead to any significant loss of filling or warmth.
  • Sleeping bag loose and dry in Storage bags store (not in compression bag).
  • While packing: Stuff the foot section first, do not roll or fold.
  • Every sleeping bag needs a sleeping pad, because the insulation is compressed towards the bottom of the sleeping bag and therefore cannot retain air and therefore heat. You can find more information about the right sleeping mat here. here.
