Feater - The Feet Heater Light: heated sleeping bag liner and lightweight sleeping bag in one.

The Grüezi bag® Feater-The Feet Heater Light is a flexible heat reserve for camping, trekking, bikepacking, and travel . In warm temperatures, it can be used on its own with a jacket as a lightweight sleeping bag . If it gets significantly colder than expected, it can simply be placed inside your existing sleeping bag and increase its warmth by up to 10 °C.

The lightweight ARL insulation extends from the foot area to under the armpits, is resistant to moisture , and provides additional insulation without the need for a second complete sleeping bag. For cold feet, the Feater Light also features an integrated carbon heating element . Powered by a standard power bank, it warms the foot area to approximately 40°C and is also suitable for pre-warming the sleeping bag.

The Feater Light can be fixed in pre-made Grüezi bag® sleeping bags using toggle buttons, but can also be used in other sleeping bags.

WHAT IS ARL?

ARL (Air-Fiber-3D-Fiber) is a robust, three-dimensional synthetic fiber insulation from Grüezi bag®. Its fiber structure creates volume and insulating air spaces that help retain body heat inside the sleeping bag. It is particularly suitable for sleeping bags that need to be used reliably even in damp, condensation-prone, and changing conditions, for example, when camping, in motorhomes, caravans, roof tents, or while traveling.

The major advantage of synthetic fibers is that they absorb very little moisture and remain functional even in high humidity. Their three-dimensional structure also promotes moisture wicking, contributing to a comfortable sleeping environment.

ARL is also robust and easy to care for. This makes the insulation particularly suitable for products that are used regularly and need to function reliably under varying outdoor conditions.

The result is a versatile synthetic fiber insulation for real camping and travel conditions - in dry nights as well as in high humidity, condensation and changeable weather.

WHAT IS A CARBON HEATING ELEMENT?

A sleeping bag doesn't generate heat itself, but rather retains some of the body heat. If the feet are already very cold due to exhaustion or illness, it can therefore take longer for the foot area to warm up comfortably. The carbon heating element is located precisely where many people first feel the cold.

This additional heat source is powered by a standard power bank and can selectively heat the lower area of the insert.

  • Within about 15 minutes, the hip bag becomes comfortably warm and the heating element can be switched off. After that, the sleeping bag retains the heat and ensures a pleasant climate throughout the night.
  • Heating time: With a 5.000 mAh power bank, the operating time is approximately 1,8 hours, and with a 10.000 mAh power bank, approximately 3,6 hours.
  • The heating output is set to a maximum of approximately 40 °C (104 °F) to prevent sweating and the resulting moisture that could lead to further chilling.
  • The heating element is integrated into the footrest so that the heat is distributed evenly from bottom to top and there is sufficient distance from the body to ensure a restful sleep.
  • The heating part is washable and can be washed along with the feeder.
