The DownWool Quilt is the ideal sleeping bag replacement from spring to autumn for all hammock sleepers or those looking to save weight while trekking.

The multifunctional top quilt can be used as a sleeping bag attached to a sleeping mat, as a blanket in a hammock, or as a cozy down duvet.

Grüezi bag® sleeping bags offer the best sleeping comfort and functionality

Grüezi bag® sleeping bags have received numerous awards for their excellent insulation and well-thought-out designs.

  • DownWool® - the better down: Unlike conventional down, DownWool® retains its insulating properties even in high humidity of up to 90%. This means DownWool® offers superior thermal performance, even in cold, wet conditions.
  • Larger temperature range: DownWool® sleeping bags have a wider temperature range where you feel comfortable. Wool balances out temperature fluctuations.
  • Drier sleeping environment: The blend of 70% RDS-certified down and 30% Alpine wool in DownWool® sleeping bags creates a dry, balanced sleeping environment. Wool effectively wicks away moisture and provides warmth even when damp.
  • More sleep, more energy: The body needs a lot of energy to regulate its temperature. Wool supports this process thanks to its excellent temperature-regulating properties.
  • Versatile: closed and open during summer trekking and in hammocks thanks to flexible adjustment systems, additionally as an liner in another sleeping bag to increase its temperature values.
  • Lightweight and small pack size: Ultra-light, robust and recycled fabrics save weight.
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.

FEATURES

  • Flexible fixing system: The three included elastic bands can be hooked onto the back of the quilt. These are then pulled over the sleeping pad, securely securing the quilt to the pad. This eliminates the need for the back of the sleeping bag and thus also reduces weight. When camping or in warm weather, the fastening system can be removed and the quilt used as a blanket.
  • Snap fastener at the top: To be able to secure it around the shoulders in a hammock and also use it as a cape.
  • Thermal collar strip: Forms a seal around the neck to prevent heat from escaping.
  • Double-sided elastic drawstrings: For comfortable neck adjustment to prevent heat from escaping.
  • Lockable footmuff: The blanket can be closed with a leg-high zipper to create a footmuff, leaving the quilt open from the hips upwards. An elastic drawstring and a hook-and-loop fastener completely close the foot area, keeping it cozy and warm.
  • Zipper with underlaid Zipper cover: so that the heat cannot escape and no cold bridges are created.
  • Two-way autolock zipper: The zipper can be opened and closed from either end, inside or outside. The auto-lock prevents it from opening accidentally.
  • Schwarzer Reißverschluss: Cooler look and better camouflage in the dark.
  • inside pocket: For valuables and things you prefer to keep close to you.
  • Silicon dots on the sidebar: to prevent slipping off the sleeping mat.
  • Chamber construction: H-chambers, sidewall construction to avoid cold bridges
  • Delivery: Quilt, compression sack, elastic fasteners with hooks, storage bag.

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL®?

DownWool® is the perfect combination of down and wool. This blend offers outstanding insulation and an exceptionally wide temperature comfort range – even in high humidity. This is made possible by the mechanical bonding of 70% RDS-certified down and 30% Alpine wool – a patent-pending, durable, and washable combination.

Down: best insulation performance

High-quality down offers excellent warmth with minimal weight. However, in high humidity (e.g., due to sweat or condensation), it clumps together and loses its insulating effect. This is where DownWool® and solves this problem:

The added wool keeps the down drier, as it can withstand up to Absorb 30% of their own weight in moisture and can be released to the outside. Even with 90% humidity DownWool® remains insulating because the wool fibers stand up and the Increase bulking power by up to 30%.

Wool: natural moisture and temperature regulation

And there's more. wool prevents evaporative coolingIt warms even when damp, neutralizes odors, and creates a pleasantly balanced microclimate. This means your body needs less energy to regulate its temperature.

The perfect sleeping bag with temperature and moisture regulation!

MAINTENANCE

Washing

  • Article on the left turn around, zipper shut down.
  • Fill the washing machine only half and choose a low spin speed.
  • Wash your DownWool® products at 30 °C (86 °F) in the wool wash cycle of the washing machine or by hand – and only with down detergent and no fabric softener.
  • Run an additional rinse cycle.
  • After loosen slightly and again at max. spin at 600 rpm.
  • For stains (e.g. deodorant residue or cream): Carefully knead the stain with diluted down detergentDo not rub! Clean the stain locally; complete wash only for large areas of soiling.

Drying Solutions

  • In the tumble dryer at max. 60 °C / 140 °F, with 2–3 tennis balls.
  • Multiple runs in the time program necessary.
  • After each round: shake, let cool.
  • Without dryer: Let the DownWool® products Dry lying on a clothes rack in the air – not hanging, not on the heater and not in direct sunlight. Shake frequently!

When is the drying process completed?

  • Until the item feels more filled than beforeIf the item still hasn't regained its original thickness, you'll need to repeat the drying process. Depending on the water resistance of the outer material, the drying time can vary (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
  • The down must be completely dry. If the sleeping bag isn't properly dried and fluffed, the down feathers can clump together, rendering the sleeping bag irreparably damaged. You can tell if the product is completely dry by whether it feels fuller and thicker than before. Damp down can have an odor, which disappears once it's dry.

TIPS/NOTES

  • After each tourDown items should be dried in a tumble dryer with tennis balls from time to time or after every trip to remove excess moisture.
  • Airing instead of washing: Wool doesn't need to be washed often. Airing the wool product thoroughly is usually sufficient—because wool is naturally odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent.
  • Occasional down feathers escaping These are normal and not a quality defect. Our DownWool® products are made from high-quality, intentionally uncoated fabrics to ensure breathability. Therefore, down may escape more easily than with coated fabrics. This phenomenon occurs only rarely and to a very small extent, and does not lead to any significant loss of filling or warmth.
  • Store loosely and dry in the storage bag (not in the compression sack). When packing: Stuff the foot section first., do not roll or fold.
  • Every sleeping bag needs a sleeping pad, because the insulation is compressed towards the bottom of the sleeping bag and therefore cannot retain air and therefore heat. You can find more information about the right sleeping mat here. here.
