The robust, comfortable winter sleeping bag with protection against annoying insects and small animals!

The "Biopod Wool Survival Ice" is a robust and moisture-resistant sleeping bag suitable for use from late autumn through winter and into spring. It is particularly suitable for outdoor adventurers who like to sleep without a tent, under a tarp, on boats, on lakes and riverbanks, or in areas with high humidity. To prevent annoying mosquitoes and other creepy crawlies from disturbing your restful sleep, the sleeping bag features foot ventilation with a mosquito net. A 3D mosquito dome can also be attached to the hood.

Grüezi bag® sleeping bags offer the best sleeping comfort and functionality

Grüezi bag sleeping bags have received numerous awards for their excellent insulation and well-thought-out designs.

  • Dry and balanced sleeping environment even at very high humidity: Conventional sleeping bags only insulate when dry. Alpine wool, on the other hand, dries quickly, efficiently wicks away moisture, and provides warmth even when damp. This makes it ideal for use in cold, wet weather or high humidity.
  • Larger temperature range: Alpine wool sleeping bags have a wider temperature range where you feel comfortable. Wool balances temperature fluctuations like a light, natural air conditioner.
  • Best sleep quality: Longer sleep, falling asleep faster and sleeping through the night is possible thanks to the wool content in the insulation filling.
  • Well-thought-out cut for optimal freedom of movement: The comfort cut allows the body to assume a relaxed position, ensuring a peaceful, restful sleep. You can sleep more soundly because you can turn around both in a side position with your leg bent and inside the sleeping bag.
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification: Grüezi bag® products are harmless to human health.
  • Alpine wool from Bavaria: It is made in Bavaria from the wool of sheep from the Alps.
  • The outer fabric: It's particularly robust and durable, and features anti-slip nubs on the underside. This prevents annoying slipping off the sleeping mat, even on uneven ground.
  • Ventilation in the foot area: A mosquito net is incorporated here so that no insects can crawl into the sleeping bag.
  • 3D mosquito net: A mosquito net, which is included in the package, can be attached to the head area with a zipper. Perfect for areas with a lot of insects.

FEATURES

  • Pillow compartment: If you put a fleece jacket, for example, into the pillow compartment, the sleeping bag has a non-slip pillow.
  • Adjustable hood with Face Baffle: The thermal bulge adapts perfectly to the shape of your head. When it's cold, only a small hole remains open, reducing heat loss from the face.
  • 3D mosquito net (removable): To keep annoying mosquitoes, insects, and bugs out, a 3D mosquito net has been integrated. The net is suspended above the head by three small, rounded poles. The pop-up arch keeps it away from the face, thus protecting against these small, uninvited guests. The net is stored in the integrated pocket on the pack sack.
  • 3D thermal collar: It's pulled tight over the shoulders and prevents heat from escaping upwards from the sleeping bag. It also automatically seals the gap between the zipper and the sleeping bag when the zipper is closed.
  • drawstring pocket: To ensure that the drawstring on the warm collar does not get in the way, it is safely stored in a simple drawstring pocket.
  • Inside & outside pocket: For valuables and things you prefer to keep close to you.
  • Two-way autolock zipper: The zipper can be opened and closed from either end, inside or outside. The auto-lock prevents it from opening accidentally.
  • Zipper with anti-snag zipper and lined robust webbing: This makes it even easier to operate the zipper without pinching the outer fabric.
  • Zipper with underlaid Zipper cover: So that the heat cannot escape and no cold bridges are created.
  • Foot ventilation system: The innovative zipper design allows your feet to rest comfortably on top of the sleeping bag and excess heat to escape.
  • Additional foot ventilation: A mosquito net is incorporated here so that no insects can crawl into the sleeping bag.
  • Feater loops: A warming hip bag with heating element (Feater - The Feet Heater) can be installed additionally.
  • Pre-shaped foot box: When lying down, there is enough room in the sleeping bag to point your toes.
  • Anti-slip nubs on the back: They prevent the sleeping bag from slipping.
  • Particularly robust outer fabric: Suitable for bad weather conditions
  • Construction: Layer construction
  • Delivery: Sleeping bag, compression pack sack with integrated mosquito net pocket, storage bag, 3D mosquito net.

WHAT IS ALPINE WOOL?

What makes this sleeping bag special is its innovative lavalan® Alpine Wool insulation. The insulation consists of a lightweight wool fleece from sheep from the Alpine region: robust, natural, biodegradable, and renewable.

Wool acts like a lightweight, natural air conditioner. In a wool sleeping bag, you'll immediately feel the wide temperature comfort zone, where you're neither too cold nor too warm. Furthermore, the insulation is naturally resistant to very high levels of humidity, creating a natural, dry, and balanced sleeping environment.

  • Effective temperature and humidity regulation:Wool balances temperature fluctuations like a light, natural air conditioner. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture and releases it back to the outside in a controlled manner. This natural regulation creates a warming or cooling effect without the cooling effect of evaporation.
  • Insulates even in very high humidity: Wool wicks away sweat and retains its warming properties even when damp, something no other material can match. This means it provides excellent insulation even in very high humidity, offering high thermal performance in cold, wet weather.
  • Dries very quickly: Wool insulation dries very quickly and can therefore be used directly on rivers, on boats, in the tropics even at over 100% humidity
  • Neutralizes unpleasant odors: Wool has an antibacterial effect and thus naturally counteracts unpleasant odors.
  • sleep quality: Longer sleep, faster falling asleep and better sleep through the night increases thanks to the wool filling.
  • More sleep, more energy:The body needs a lot of energy to regulate its temperature. Wool supports this process thanks to its excellent temperature-regulating properties.

The result: Excellent insulation and a wide temperature range for comfortable sleep. Furthermore, an Alpine wool sleeping bag is very resistant to moisture, making Grüezi bag® wool sleeping bags a popular all-rounder in very humid areas.

SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE RESPONSIBILITY

  • Grüezi bag® is a CO2-neutral Companies.
  • animal welfare: mulesing-free sheep wool from Europe
  • OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification for all materials used. This label for textiles tested for harmful substances guarantees that the product is harmless to health.
  • PFC-free: No perfluorinated chemicals are used.
  • If required, priming or impregnation.: The sleeping bags are treated with a durable water-repellent impregnation based on bio-based raw materials (BeSoDRY-ECO).
  • Recycled materials
  • Easy care: The sleeping bag can be washed by hand at max. 30 °C/86 °F or in the washing machine on the wool cycle.

MAINTENANCE

Washing

  • The Washing instructions are in the inside pocket of the sleeping bag.
  • The sleeping bag can be washed with a wool detergent (without protease) at a maximum of 30°C/86°F by hand or in the washing machine on the wool cycle. Please turn inside out, zip up, run an additional rinse cycle, and do not use fabric softener.

Drying Solutions

On sunny days, you can place the sleeping bag on a clothes rack to allow air to reach the sleeping bag from above and below. Please allow plenty of time for the sleeping bag to dry out.

Tip:

  • When unpacked for the first time, the sleeping bag needs some time to fluff up. If you iron the sleeping bag loosely with a steam iron on the silk setting before first use, the wool will expand more quickly and the sleeping bag will then be able to regulate its temperature better.
  • All sleeping bags should be dried from time to time or after each trip to remove excess moisture.
  • Sleeping bags must be stored open and dry in a storage bag. A discarded pillowcase can also be used as a storage bag.
  • When packing the sleeping bag into the compression bag, it must be stuffed with the foot end first, not rolled or folded.
  • Airing a sleeping bag is better than washing it. Wool sleeping bags rarely need to be washed, as wool itself has natural odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent properties. For minor external soiling, we recommend gently cleaning only the stain itself (see above). Greasy and extensively soiled sleeping bags can be machine washed.
  • A sleeping pad should be placed under every sleeping bag, as the insulation is compressed towards the bottom of the sleeping bag and therefore cannot retain air and therefore heat. You can find more information about the right sleeping pad here. Here.
