We use down in sleeping bags, duvets, and jackets because it is among the best natural insulating materials in the world. A single gram of down contains tens of millions of tiny barbs that trap an enormous amount of air.
So Down insulation is highly efficient at minimal weight, while also being very durable and highly compressible.

To ensure our products function reliably and provide cozy warmth for many years, Grüezi bag® uses only the highest quality down. We rely on untreated, new down, which we source from ethically managed farms. This is verified with the "RDS" certification.
RDS - Responsible Down Standard
Animal welfare is very important to us. Therefore, we focus on the strictest standard in the down industry. The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) is an independent, globally valid standard that was created by the non-profit organization "Textil Exchange" and certified by independent institutions.
Species-appropriate husbandry without animal cruelty
Grüezi bag® ensures through RDS certification that our products are free of harmful substances. cruel to animals Methods like Live plucking and Force-feeding The animals from which our down comes are kept under species-appropriate conditions. We only use down and feathers left over from food production. No animals have to be slaughtered specifically for our sleeping bags.
- Every step in the value chain is audited by an external certification body and subject to strict controls – from the breeding farm to the warehouse. This ensures complete traceability and ensures that you know exactly where each individual batch of down comes from.
- Only products with 100% certified down and feathers may carry the RDS logo.
