What does the term RDS – Responsible Down Standard mean?

The Responsible Down Standard (RDS) is a voluntary and independent global standard, established by the Textile Exchange and certified by independent institutions. It is the strictest standard in the down industry.

The welfare of the ducks and geese is ensured.

• Every step in the value chain is audited by an external certification body and subject to strict controls – from the breeding farm to the warehouse. This ensures complete traceability and ensures that you know exactly where each individual batch of down comes from.
• Only products with 100% certified down and feathers may carry the RDS logo.

Grüezi bag ensures through the RDS certification that our products are free from cruel to animals Methods like Live plucking and Force-feeding The animals from which our down comes are kept under species-appropriate conditions. We only use down and feathers left over from food production. No animals have to be slaughtered specifically for our sleeping bags.
