DownWool® sleeping bags

DownWool® sleeping bags: down and wool cleverly combined

A good down sleeping bag should be warm, lightweight, and compact. But when you're on the go, there's another important factor: the sleeping climate has to be right, even if the night gets damp, condensation forms in the tent, or temperatures fluctuate more than expected.

DownWool® was developed precisely for this purpose.

The insulation combines 70% down with 30% wool . The down provides ample warmth while remaining lightweight and compact. The wool absorbs moisture and helps to regulate the temperature inside the sleeping bag.

This makes a DownWool® sleeping bag particularly interesting for trekking, bikepacking, camping, mountain tours and travel, anywhere where low weight, warmth and a comfortable sleeping climate are required.

What is special about a DownWool® sleeping bag?

Down is an excellent insulating material: it traps a lot of air, can be compressed greatly, and thus allows for warm sleeping bags with a comparatively low weight.

Their weak point is moisture. If the humidity rises or condensation forms, pure down can lose its loft.

This is where the wool comes into play.

DownWool® combines down and wool directly within the insulation. The wool can absorb and release moisture, thus promoting a more balanced climate inside the insulation.

For you, this means one thing above all: you don't have to choose between a lightweight down sleeping bag and a comfortable sleeping climate.

DownWool® 2.0, made for nights when the weather doesn't go according to plan.

On a tour, no two nights are ever the same. Evenings are mild, but it gets cold towards morning. Humidity rises in the tent. Or after a strenuous day, you yourself bring more moisture into your sleeping bag.

It is precisely in such changing conditions that it becomes clear why we combine down and wool.

The down provides a large portion of the insulation and keeps weight and pack size low. The wool supports moisture management and ensures a more balanced climate inside the sleeping bag.

On paper, that might sound like a small difference. After several nights outdoors, it can be quite crucial.

Which DownWool® sleeping bag is right for you?

Not everyone needs the same sleeping bag. That's why DownWool® is available in different warmth and comfort classes.

Down sleeping bag for trekking, camping and travel

DownWool® is particularly suitable for people who regularly use their sleeping bag under different conditions.

When trekking and bikepacking, weight and pack size are crucial. When camping, comfort is often a greater priority. In the mountains, temperature and humidity can change within just a few hours.

That's precisely why at DownWool® we didn't try to simply build the lightest possible down sleeping bag.

Our goal was to create a sleeping bag that effectively combines the advantages of down and wool.

Down for warmth and light weight. Wool for moisture management and a balanced sleeping climate.

Ultimately, it all comes down to what's most important: sleeping well outdoors and continuing your journey refreshed the next morning.
