WHAT IS ALPINE WOOL?

AlmWolle is a lightweight, high-performance wool insulation based on a lavalan® wool fleece made with wool from sheep in the Alpine region. It is particularly suitable for all-round sleeping bags that remain comfortably warm even in damp conditions, condensation, and fluctuating temperatures – for example, when camping by a lake, on a boat, in damp valleys or forests, in a car, or during overnight stays in mountain huts.

The great advantage of wool: it can absorb moisture into the fiber and release it to the outside. At the same time, it helps to regulate temperature, is odor-resistant, and provides warmth even when damp . This is why AlmWolle promotes a pleasantly dry and balanced sleeping environment – ​​not only on cool nights, but also in warmer temperatures.

Alpine wool can help reduce heat build-up and a clammy feeling without causing you to cool down quickly. This ensures a particularly wide comfort temperature range and makes a sleeping bag with alpine wool ideal for nights with alternating warmth, humidity, and cooling.

The result is a robust, wool-based insulation for real outdoor conditions - in dry nights as well as in high humidity, condensation and changing weather.

MAINTENANCE

Washing

• Wash your AlmWolle product by hand or at 30 °C (86 °F) on the wool cycle of the washing machine – and only with wool detergent without protease.
• Please turn inside out, zip up, run an additional rinse cycle and do not use fabric softener.
• Fill the washing machine only half and choose a low spin speed (max. 600 revolutions).
• For stains (e.g. deodorant residue or cream): Carefully knead the stain with diluted wool detergent, then wash the area by hand and let it dry (su). Do not rub!

Drying Solutions

• Leave the product to air dry lying flat on a clothes drying rack.– not hanging, not on the heater and not in direct sunlight.

TIPS/NOTES

• After each tourWoolen items should be dried from time to time or after every trip to remove excess moisture.
• Ventilate instead of washing: Wool is naturally odor-resistant and dirt-repellent. For minor external soiling, we recommend gently cleaning only the stain itself (see care instructions). Heavily soiled and greasy sleeping bags can be machine washed.
• Sleeping bag loose and dry in Storage bags store (not in compression bag).
• While packing: Stuff the foot section first, do not roll or fold.
• Every sleeping bag needs a sleeping pad, because the insulation is compressed towards the bottom of the sleeping bag and therefore cannot retain air and therefore heat. You can find more information about the right sleeping mat here. here.
