Outer fabric

In addition to the DownWool® filling and its quilting, the down-proof woven cover of our Grüezi bag® duvets is exceptional: It is made of 80% high-quality cotton and 20% SMARTCEL™ fibers.

The cover feels incredibly soft and gentle on the skin. And it's good for it: zinc oxide is naturally incorporated into the high-tech SMARTCEL™ wood fiber. SMARTCEL™ has a lasting antibacterial effect, inhibits odor, and stops dust mites, thus contributing to the protection and recovery of healthy, stressed, irritated, or diseased skin.

Quilting

A sophisticated chamber system prevents the DownWool® filling from shifting. This ensures that the filling remains evenly distributed over time and that cold spots do not form.

The duvet, with its smaller chambers, also adapts perfectly to the body shape, even for small children. This way, the entire body is evenly wrapped, making you feel wonderfully secure despite the luxurious lightness of this duvet.

WHAT IS DOWNWOOL®?

What makes this duvet special is its innovative insulation: Under a DownWool® duvet, you immediately feel the wide temperature comfort zone, where it's neither too cold nor too warm. Furthermore, the insulation is naturally less sensitive to high humidity.

This is achieved through the innovative blend of 70% RDS-certified animal welfare down and 30% wool from the Alps. This patent-pending combination acts as a lightweight, natural air conditioner.

Down: excellent insulation performance

• High-quality down provides exceptional insulation at a low weight. However, in high humidity (air, sweat, condensation), down clumps together and loses its insulating properties. Grüezi bag solves this problem with its innovative DownWool® insulation.
• The down content makes the blanket cozy and warm and airy.

Wool: effective moisture and temperature regulation

• Thanks to the addition of wool in DownWool®, the down stays naturally drier, thus maintaining its insulating properties. Wool can absorb up to 30% of its own weight in moisture through its capillaries and release it back to the outside in a controlled manner.
• DownWool® remains insulating at humidity levels up to 90%. The wool fibers rise in moisture and even increase their insulating loft by up to 30%, further improving thermal performance.
• DownWool® not only effectively regulates moisture, but also body temperature. Wool prevents cooling evaporation and retains its warming properties even when damp, something no other material can match. Wool naturally creates a cozy, comfortable microclimate through its unique climate-regulating properties. Therefore, the duvet is comfortable even in warmer temperatures and prevents overheating.
• Wool also neutralizes unpleasant odors.
• The quality of sleep (longer sleep, faster falling asleep and better sleep through the night) increases thanks to the wool content in the DownWool® insulation filling.
• More sleep, more energy: The body needs a lot of energy to regulate its temperature. Wool supports this process thanks to its excellent temperature-regulating properties.

SUSTAINABILITY AND CLIMATE RESPONSIBILITY

• Easy care: The duvet can be hand-washed at a maximum of 30°C/86°F or in a large washing machine on the wool cycle. The down must be completely dry before the item feels thicker than before.

MAINTENANCE

Washing

• The duvet can be washed with a down detergent at a maximum of 30°C/86°F in a large washing machine on the wool cycle. Please add an additional rinse cycle and do not use fabric softener.
• Remove the item from the machine, loosen it up a bit and spin it again at max. 600 revolutions.

Drying Solutions

• Tumble dry at max. 60°C/140°F and be sure to add 2-3 tennis balls for better fluffing.
• Please run the item through the dryer several times and after each dryer cycle, remove it from the machine, shake it well and let it cool down in between.
• The dryer must be set to a timer program to dry the down completely.
• If you don't use a dryer, you can place the blanket on a clothes rack on sunny days and shake it frequently to allow air to reach the blanket from above and below.

When is the drying process completed?

• If the item still does not have its original thickness, the drying process must be repeated until the blanket feels more filled than before.
• Depending on the load size, the drying process can take different lengths of time (at least 2 days, depending on the dryer model).
• The down must be completely dry. If the duvet isn't properly dried and fluffed, there's a risk that the down feathers will clump together, which can cause irreparable damage. You'll know the product is completely dry when it feels fuller and thicker than before. Damp down can have an unpleasant odor, but this odor will disappear once it's dried.
  

TIP

• Down duvets should be dried in the tumble dryer from time to time using tennis balls to remove excess moisture.
  
• Airing a down duvet is better than washing it. DownWool® duvets rarely need to be washed, as wool itself has natural odor-inhibiting and dirt-repellent properties. For minor external soiling, we recommend gently cleaning only the stain itself; duvets with extensive soiling can be machine washed.
